Benalmadena Pueblo Area Guide
This picturesque village and its coastline are eminently suitable for tourism, residential living and investment. There are many multi million Euro villas surrounding the Pueblo, a lovely promenade, large beautiful park and world beating marina all of which are scattered with restaurants to suit all tastes. Set in between the pueblo and the coast, there are new apartments and golf developments, which remain in Andalucian style which can be purchased for substantially less than in Marbella and Puerto Banus. This leaves plenty of scope for price increases.
The original heart of Benalmadena remains as a typical white Andalucian Village in the foothills of the mountains with its charming narrow flower filled streets and fantastic views of the coastline and mountains. Romans, Phoenicians and Moors have all inhabited in the past and have left their mark on the area, in particular having a noticeable effect on its architecture.
The village has a feel all of its own that is reflected in its restaurants and hotels. It has a quaint church perched on its own cliff top and beautiful square, surrounded by orange trees with a central fountain. Benalmadena Pueblo has a wide variety of amenities on offer, including a bull ring, museums, a castle, sports centre, many shops, bars and restaurants plus general amenities.
Being situated next to Mijas, Benalmadena is close to the A7 coast road and Autopista Mediterraneo that give direct access to the whole of the Costa del Sol. Malaga airport is approximately 15 minutes away, while the jet set hustle and bustle of Marbella and Puerto Banus is approximately 30 minutes away. Even Gibraltar is only approximately an hour away on the Autopista.
